Out of the ordinary, the extra ordinary is only a breath away. When we ask ourselves, "Am I breathing?" we open to the splendid presence of this moment. And in this splendid moment all things are held in potential for our awareness. This is the awakening I came to in my early teens, traversing life's changing circumstances and relationships. Since that time I have sought and found connection with the central core of the world's faith traditions and philosophies, and experienced healing, forgiveness, and strength in the most harrowing circumstances. Simple daily routines can be lifted up out of the humdrum and given a sheen with shifted attention. Even the most challenging situations can be made more bearable through the Art of Ceremony.
Ceremonies are my way to shift attention from the every-day haze of going through expected and predictable patterns and motions. Shift your morning routine and use Great-Grandmother's wedding crystal for your first drink of water. Light a candle before each meal. Don the silk scarf brother gave you fourteen years ago before your foray into the grocer's shop. Pause before turning on the car, and visualize yourself arriving at your destination and returning safely to your home. Then inhale a deep breath of peace and turn the key. When you join in a toast, look each person in the eyes before clinking their glass. Simple steps shift your awareness into this glorious moment.
I take great delight in designing ceremonies for individuals, couples, families and groups who want to lift thier occasion out of the ordinary and glorify it into the extra-ordinary. Wedding Ceremonies offer an enchanting opportunity to give family and treasured friends a personal peek inside the hearts and minds of the marrying couple.
